Do I need a payment gateway?

If you have a website and want to accept credit cards, you will need a payment gateway in addition to your merchant account, as the merchant account itself is useless without one! The gateway allows your website to securely pass the card information onto the processing company. Gateways work in conjunction with shopping carts or can act on its own as a Secure Order Form (only recommended for site with a few products).
